New role for the Corporate Centre

Alpiq's Corporate Centre, comprising the three functional divisions for Financial Services, Management Services and Business Development, will be responsible for steering, coordinating and controlling Group-wide business activities in future. It also defines Group-wide guidelines and standards, implements interdivisional and Group-wide processes, and provides services to support Group steering.

In 2009, Financial Services faced enormous challenges related to the financing of the Alpiq Group, setting up a centralised IT management system and preparing the first joint reports and budgets. Business Development, which has existed in its present form since February 2009, performs steering functions aimed at sustainable Group development. The Human Resources Department and Corporate Communications unit within Management Services had a particularly heavy workload in 2009, drawing up new employment contracts and building up the new brand respectively.
